About BayPro Heating & Cooling

BayPro Heating & Cooling is an HVAC repair company based in San Jose. We fix and replace furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-splits and ductwork for homes across the South Bay and the edges of the Peninsula and East Bay. This page is less about us and more about how we go about the work, because that is what you will actually notice when a technician shows up at your door.

Why we start with measurements

Heating and cooling problems are easy to misread. A frozen coil can look like a refrigerant problem when the real cause is a clogged filter. A furnace that shuts off after a few minutes may have a dirty flame sensor, a blocked vent or a failing pressure switch. Replacing parts on a hunch costs you money and often leaves the original fault in place.

So our visits begin with testing. We take readings on airflow, temperature, electrical parts, gas pressure and refrigerant before naming a cause. Then we explain what we found in ordinary words and show you, when we can, the part or reading that tells the story.

  • Diagnosis comes before any recommendation
  • Options are written down, with the reasoning behind each one
  • No work begins until you say yes

Working in the South Bay climate

The Santa Clara Valley has dry summers and mild, damp winters, and the inland and southern parts of the valley get noticeably hotter than the neighborhoods near the Bay. That affects which parts wear out and when. We keep it in mind when we diagnose a system in Morgan Hill compared with one in Palo Alto, and when we size new equipment.

Many homes here are decades old, with original ducts in hot attics or damp crawlspaces, and some still have wall or floor furnaces. We take those systems seriously, repair what is worth repairing and tell you honestly when a part is no longer practical to fix.

Being straight about rules and incentives

Homeowners hear a lot of conflicting talk about gas furnace bans and heat pump rebates. Here is what we tell people. Bay Area Air District rules do not require replacing working equipment; they apply when a furnace or water heater fails or is replaced. Gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 must meet a zero-NOx standard, which points future replacements toward heat pumps. The federal 25C credit ended for heat pumps placed in service after December 31, 2025. Local incentives through BayREN and clean energy providers change by funding cycle, so we confirm the current offer before we mention a number.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Test first

We check airflow, electrical parts, gas and refrigerant readings before naming a cause, so the fix matches the real problem.

  2. Plain-language options

You see what failed, why it matters and what each option involves, written down before any work starts.

  3. Straight talk on rules

Air District rules do not require replacing working equipment. We explain where they matter and confirm current incentives before mentioning them.

Tell us what your system is doing

Describe the problem, the equipment and when it started. We will set up a visit, test the system and give you clear, written options.
