The short answer
BayPro repairs furnaces, heat pumps, wall and floor heaters, ductless systems and thermostats in Campbell. We diagnose the specific cause of no heat, uneven heat or strange noises and explain your options before starting any repair.
Heating systems in Campbell come in more varieties than people expect. On one street you might find a forced-air gas furnace in the garage, a ductless heat pump in a remodeled bungalow, a wall heater in an older rental and a hydronic system in a custom home. BayPro Heating & Cooling repairs all of these. Our base in San Jose is about five miles from ZIP 95008, and we treat each call the same way: identify what kind of heating equipment you have, figure out exactly why it has stopped doing its job, and lay out the fix in terms that make sense before we pick up a tool.
Heating systems we work on
Because Campbell has a mix of postwar houses, updated ranch homes and newer construction, our technicians come prepared for different equipment on every call.
- Gas forced-air furnaces in closets, garages and attics
- Ducted heat pumps and their auxiliary heat strips
- Ductless mini-split heat pumps in single rooms or whole homes
- Wall furnaces and floor furnaces found in older properties
- Thermostats, zoning controls and the wiring between them
- Duct problems that cause cold rooms, weak airflow or noise
Common heating problems in Campbell homes
No heat at all often turns out to be an electrical or ignition issue: a blown fuse on the control board, a failed igniter, a bad thermostat or a safety switch that has opened. A furnace that runs but leaves bedrooms chilly usually has an airflow or duct issue, such as a disconnected attic run or a crushed flex duct.
Heat pumps have their own patterns. A unit stuck in defrost, an outdoor fan that will not start, a reversing valve that sticks or a system that leans on electric backup heat all the time will raise your electric bill fast. Wall and floor heaters most often struggle with pilot and thermocouple problems, dirty burners or worn gas valves.
What to expect from our visit
When we arrive, we ask a few questions: when the issue began, whether it happens all the time or only in certain weather, and whether anything changed recently, like a new thermostat or a remodel. Then we test the system from the thermostat to the equipment to the registers.
You get a clear explanation of what failed and what the options are. Many standard parts are on our trucks, so plenty of repairs are completed during the first visit. If a part needs to be ordered, we tell you up front and set a return time. We also point out anything we noticed that is not urgent but worth watching, so you can plan ahead instead of being surprised.
Safety comes first
Any gas-fired heater can produce carbon monoxide if it is not burning or venting correctly. During heating repairs, we check flues and vent connectors, look for scorching or rust around burners, and inspect the heat exchanger where we can see it. Make sure your home has working CO alarms near sleeping areas.
If you smell gas, do not try to diagnose it yourself. Leave the house, then call your gas utility or 911 from outside.
Planning for the next heating system
Some repairs will reveal that the equipment is at the end of its useful life. If so, it helps to know the local rules. Bay Area Air District Rule 9-4 calls for natural gas furnaces manufactured from 2029 to meet a zero-NOx emission standard, which effectively steers replacements toward heat pumps after that date. These rules do not require replacing a heater that still works.
BayREN and your local clean energy provider list current heat pump incentives, and those change by funding cycle, so we verify them before quoting. We provide heating repair in Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, Cupertino and Santa Clara as well as Campbell.
