The short answer
BayPro Heating & Cooling serves Stanford, CA (ZIP 94305), about 17 miles from our San Jose base. We repair and install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps and ductless mini-splits and provide maintenance, duct cleaning and indoor air quality service.
Stanford is an unincorporated community in Santa Clara County, roughly seventeen miles west of our San Jose base, and it uses a single ZIP code, 94305. Residential buildings here vary widely in age and construction, so heating and cooling equipment ranges from older gas furnaces with long duct runs to recent heat pump and ductless installations. BayPro Heating & Cooling provides repair, installation, maintenance and indoor air quality service for residents in Stanford and the surrounding mid-Peninsula. Below you will find what to have ready before calling, the kinds of work we handle and a few points about local rules that affect equipment choices.
Before you schedule: a quick checklist
Gathering a little information beforehand makes the first visit far more productive. If you can, note the following:
- Who is responsible for the equipment, especially if you lease, so the right person can approve repairs
- The brand and model on the furnace, air handler or outdoor unit, usually printed on a label inside the panel door
- When the problem began and whether it happens all the time or only at certain hours
- Any recent changes, such as a new thermostat, electrical work or a remodel
- Where the equipment sits, whether attic, closet, garage, crawlspace or roof, and how to get to it
Heating and cooling work we handle in 94305
On the heating side, we diagnose and repair furnaces, replace failed igniters, inducer motors, pressure switches and control boards, and install new furnaces when repair no longer makes sense. We also install and service heat pumps, which handle both heating and cooling with one system.
For cooling, we repair and install central air conditioners and ductless mini-splits. Mini-splits suit spaces such as converted attics, home offices and small accessory units where extending ductwork would be awkward or disruptive.
Maintenance visits, duct cleaning and air quality upgrades round out the list. Indoor air work might include higher-grade filtration, sealing leaky return ducts that pull in dusty attic air or checking that bathroom and kitchen ventilation actually moves air outdoors.
Climate on the mid-Peninsula
Stanford sits on the western side of the Santa Clara Valley, which has a Mediterranean climate of dry summers and mild, damp winters. The hottest weather in the valley tends to settle farther inland and to the south, but summer afternoons here are still warm enough that cooling matters, particularly in upper floors and rooms with large windows.
Winter rarely brings hard cold, so heating equipment runs in many short cycles rather than long ones. That gentle pattern is one reason heat pumps work well locally. It also means components age through repeated starts, which is why igniters, flame sensors and capacitors are among the parts we replace most.
Air District rules and incentives in plain language
The Bay Area Air District regulates emissions from gas furnaces and water heaters, but its appliance rules do not make anyone remove working equipment. They apply only when an existing furnace or water heater fails or is replaced.
For furnaces, Rule 9-4 requires gas models manufactured from 2029 to meet a zero-NOx standard. In practice that points toward heat pumps for replacements made after that date. For small water heaters, Rule 9-6 set a 2027 zero-NOx date, and the Air District Board is considering amendments in November 2026 that could delay it, so check the current rule before planning a replacement.
The federal 25C credit applied only to qualifying heat pumps placed in service before December 31, 2025. Programs offered through BayREN and local clean energy providers change from one funding cycle to the next, and we confirm current availability before including any incentive in a quote.
